First of the factors that impact battery life, is simply size. Batteries, especially the lithium-ion type used in our devices, have a minimum size to have the required effectiveness. The other side of the same coin, is we want to keep the device sized small enough to be versatile. It’s important to find a balance between the two.

Second of the factors that the frequency of location updates, the type of network used. Frequent updates consume more power, while lower update rates help save battery. When stationary, most trackers reduce the update frequency (enter power-saving mode), extending battery life. Using high-power networks like 4G drains the battery faster than low-power options like LoRa or NB-IoT.

Third of the factors that the use of the tracker’s features, such as lights, sound, Bluetooth, etc. Turning on lights and sound will accelerate battery consumption. When you frequently use these features, the Tracker’s usage time will be reduced.

Fourth of the factors that environmental conditions (temperature, signal strength, pet’s activity status). Low temperature and weak signals can accelerate battery consumption. The higher the pet’s activity frequency, the faster the battery will drain. Factors Affecting GPS Accuracy

First of the factors that Signal Interference & Obstructions. GPS signals require a clear line of sight to satellites. Tall buildings, dense forests, or being indoors can weaken the signal, leading to inaccurate positioning. Weather conditions like heavy rain or storms may also affect GPS performance.

Second of the factors that Location Update Frequency. Faster updates provide more precise tracking but consume more battery. Reduce update frequency when stationary to save battery. This means location updates may appear delayed.
