The score is calculated using several important metrics:
Different types of pets have different needs. For example, a senior cat and a young dog have very different activity levels and health baselines. That’s why the system adjusts expectations based on your pet’s species and age.
Is your pet getting enough exercise and sleep? The system tracks movements, playtime, and rest periods to see if your pet’s activity levels are balanced and healthy.
Body weight is a vital indicator. Sudden gains or losses can signal a problem. The score also factors in your pet’s diet — how often they eat, how much, and what kind of food they’re getting.
Additional metrics — such as hydration, heart rate (if supported), and behavioral changes — are also used when available to provide a more complete picture of your pet’s health.
Our health scoring system is based on a 100-point model that takes into account:
Pet species and age
Daily exercise
Quality of rest
Weight and body index
Eating behavior
Risk-weighted health factors (e.g., obesity tendency, sedentary behavior)
A higher score indicates a more ideal physiological state for your pet.
We first evaluate the species (cat, dog, etc.) and life stage (puppy/kitten, adult, senior) of the pet to establish a baseline health model:
